2015 DEMO DERBY MODIFIED RULES

GENERAL RULES:

1. ALL CARS ARE TO BE BUILT BY RULES STATED IN THE PREPARATION OF CARS SECTION IN THIS RULES SHEET. THE FINAL CALLS ARE MADE BY THE
JUDGES, SO IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU DO SOMETHING THAT IS NOT MENTIONED IN THE RULES.

2. EVERYONE MUST PURCHASE A PIT PASS TO BE IN THE PIT AREA, IF PEOPLE ARE AROUND YOUR CAR WITHOUT A PIT PASS THAT COULD CAUSE THAT
CAR TO BE DISQUALIFIED.

3. ALL CARS MUST AND BE ON THE GROUNDS AND IN  THE INSPECTION LANE 1 HOUR PRIOR TO START TIMES, UNLESS PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS HAVE
BEEN MADE WITH OFFICIALS.
4. APPROVED RACING HELMETS MUST BE WORE AT ALL TIMES WHEN ON THE TRACK, ALSO THE FOLLOWING SAFETY EQUIPMENT MUST BE WORE WHILE
ON THE TRACK: LONG SLEEVE SHIRT, PANTS, GOGGLES OR SOME SORT OF EYE PROTECTION AND SEAT MUST BE WORE AT ALL TIMES.

5.  ALL DRIVERS MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD TO COMPETE, UNLESS THE FAIRBOARD APPROVES OF SOMEONE YOUNGER TO COMPETE, BUT THAT IS
TOTALLY UP TO THE FAIRBOARD, IN THE EVENT THE FAIRBOARD ALLOWS SOMEONE YOUNGER TO COMPETE, THAT PARTICIPANT MUST HAVE A
NOTORIZED PAPER FROM THEIR PARENT STATING THEY ALLOW THEIR CHILD TO PARTICIPATE.

6. ANY UNSPORTMANSLIKE CONDUCT MADE AT A OFFICIAL OR ANOTHER DRIVER, MADE BY ANOTHER DRIVER OR CREW MEMBER WILL CAUSE THAT
CAR TO BE DISQUALIFIED, ALSO ANY LIQUOR OR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES FOUND IN ONES PIT AREA WILL CAUSE THAT CAR  TO BE DISQUALIFIED.

7. IF A DRIVER WANTS TO PROTEST A CAR, THE PROTEST MUST BE DONE IN THE DRIVERS MEETING, THE DRIVERS MEETING WILL BE 20 MINUTES
BEFORE THE EVENT IS GETTING READY TO START. ALL DRIVERS MUST BE PRESENT AT THE DRIVERS MEETING.

8. ALL ENTRY FEES MUST BE PAID BEFORE IT IS BROUGHT TO THE INSPECTION LANE. IF A CAR DOES NOT PASS INSPECTION THEY DO NOT GET THEIR
ENTRY FEE MONEY BACK. ALL CARS ARE SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AFTER THE EVENT IS OVER, IF FOUND ILLEGAL THEN THE DRIVER FORFEITS ALL
PRIZE MONEY WON THAT EVENING. ALSO DRIVER ONLY IN THE INSPECTION AREA.  


PREPARATION OF CARS:

1. ALL GLASS, PLASTIC, TRIM , DOOR HANDLES MUST BE TAKEN OF THE CAR  BEFORE IT ENTERS THE ARENA.

2. THE FOLLOWING VEHICLES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE: FULL- FRAMED IMPERIALS, TRUCKS, VANS, AMBULANCES, JEEPS, CARRY ALLS,
LIMOS, HEARESES, OR FOUR WHEEL DRIVES. UNIBODY IMPERIALS ARE ALLOWED TO RUN.

3. NO HYBRIDS FRAMES ALLOWED, YOU MAY ONLY SHORTEN FRAME BACK TO ORIGINAL CORE SUPPORT MOUNT. FRONT FRAME SEAMS MAY BE
WELDED  FROM BUMPER TO THE A ARM TOP SIDE ONLY. TILTING OF THE FRAME IS ALLOWED. FRAMES MAY BE REPAIRED WITH SAME THICKNESS OF
METAL AND MUST BE ABLE TO TELL THAT THE FRAME IS RUSTED OUT IN THAT AREA. BODY MOUNT HOLES MAY BE PATCHED WITH 3X3  ¼ INCH THICK
PLATES. REAR HUMP MAY BE PLATED ON THE OUTSIDE ONLY 22 INCHES LONE AND CONTOUR TO THE FRAME, PLATES MUST BE IN CENTER OF HUMP.
4. CAGES: CAGES CAN BE MADE OF 4X4 TUBING OR PIPE NOTHING BIGGER THAN THAT. NO KICKERS ARE ALLOWED ANGLED OFF THE FRAME. FOUR
SIDED FRAME WITH FOUR DOWN LEGS MAY BE WELDED TO SHEET METAL OR THE SIDE OF FRAME RAILS, FRONT DASH BAR MUST BE 5 INCHES FROM
THE FRONT FIREWALL AND MUST BE 5 INCHES OFF THE TRANSMISSION TUNNEL. NOTHING CAN MAKE CONTACT WITH THE FIREWALL FROM ANY PART OF
THE CAGE. REAR SEAT BAR AND SIDE BARS ARE TO BE NO FURTHER BACK THEN 6 INCHES FROM THE FRONT DOOR SEAM. ROLL OVER BARS ARE
ENCOURAGED, HOWEVER THEY MUST BE STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN  AND ALSO CAN ONLY BE 6 INCHES BACK FROM THE FRONT DOOR SEAM. WINDOW
BARS CAN NOT ATTACH TO OR TOUCH AND PART OF THE ROLL OVER BAR.

5. BUMPERS AND BUMPER SHOCKS: BUMPERS MAY BE LOADED. BUMPERS MAY BE HOMEMADE BUT MUST RESEMBLE CAR BUMPERS. THEY CAN NOT
HAVE ANYMORE POINT THEN A CHRYSLER BUMPER ( WHICH IS 13 INCHES OUT FROM THE CENTER.)  THESE BUMPERS CAN NOT LOOK LIKE A SPEAR OR
WEDGE.  BUMPER MAY BE WELDED, CHAINED OR WIRE TO THE CAR. BUMPER SHOCKS MAY BE HOMEMADE BUT NO LONGER THAN 8 INCHES. IF
WELDING THE BUMPERS TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE FRAME THE BUMPER ONLY CAN BE WELDED TO THE FRAME, IF WELDING BUMPER SHOCK  TO THE
INSIDE OF THE FRAME RAIL THE SHOCK AND BUMPER CAN BE WELDED TO THE FRAME. NO WELDING OF THE SHOCKS PAST THE FIRST 8 INCHES OR
THE NATURAL CURVE IN FRAME. MAXIMUM BUMPER HEIGHT 22IN FROM GROUND TO BOTTOM OF BUMPER ON FRESH CARS.  MAXIMUM HEIGHT OF 24
INCHES ON A PRE RAN CAR. MINIMUM OF 14 INCHES FROM GROUND TO BOTTOM OF BUMPER, IF BUMPER IS POSITIONED ABOVE FRAME WE WILL
MEASURE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FRAME.

6. TRUNKS: MAY BE WIRED, CHAINED, BOLTED, OR WELDED 5 ON 5 OFF. YOU MAY RUN  ALL THREAD FOR BODY MOUNTS IN TRUNK AREA ALL THE WAY
THROUGH THE TOP OF THE TRUNK, THEY MAY NOT BE SLEEVED. TRUNKS MAY BE PUSHED DOWN IN THE MIDDLE, BUT MUST REMAIN ON TOP OF RAIN
CHANNELS AND QUARTERS MUST REMAIN UP RIGHT. SPEAKER DECKS CAN BE REMOVED BUT CAN NOT BE RELOCATED.  

7.BODY, BODY MOUNTS:  YOU MAY CHANGE BODY BOLTS USING 1 INCH BOLTS AND 4X4 PLATES, ONLY THRU THE TOP PORTION OF THE FRAME. NO
EXTRA BODY MOUNTS ANYWHERE. NO SKINNING OF BODIES, NO PATCHES WITH THE EXCEPTION OF DOORS RIPPED OPEN. THEY MAY BE PATCHED WITH
THE SAME THICKNESS OF METAL.
8. DOORS: DOORS MAY BE WIRED OR WELDED SOLID. IF A DOORS COMES OPEN DURING THE EVENT YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.  DRIVERS DOOR MUST
BE OUTLINED WITH WHITE PAINT OR SOME PAINT THAT CLEARLY IDENTIFIES THE DOOR.

9. HOODS: MUST BE OPEN FOR INSPECTION. HALF HOODS ARE OK AS LONG AS THE FAN BLADES ARE NOT EXPOSED. IF FAN BLADES BECOME
EXPOSED DURING THE EVENT THAT CAR WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. HOODS MAYBE BE WIRED OR CHAINED IN UP TO SIX SPOTS, NO ALL THREAD TO
FASTEN HOOD. IF BOLTING ONLY THE CORESUPPORT IN MAY RUN THRU THE FRAME. NO FASTENERS IN FRONT OF THE RADIATOR.

10. GAS TANK AND BATTERY:  TANK MAXIMUM CAPACITY IS 10 GALLONS AND MUST BE RELOCATED IN THE BACK SEAT AREA.  YOU CAN HAVE UP TO 2
BATTERIES AND THEY MUST BE MOUNTED IN PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR AREA. THE GAS TANK AND BATTERIES MUST  BE SECURELY FASTENED AND
COVERED.

11. SAFETY: YOU MUST A HAVE A  WIRE, BAR , CHAIN OR CABLE IN THE FRONT WINDSHIELD AREA FROM COWL TO ROOF. IF YOU ARE USING A
DISTRIBUTOR PROTECTOR YOUR BAR MUST BE OUT-BOARD OF THE VALVE COVERS.

12. SUSPENSION: NO COIL TO LEAF CONVERSIONS. ANY REAR-END MAY BE USED. WATTS LINK CONVERSIONS ARE OK AS LONG AS YOU USE A MAX OF 4
TRAILING ARMS AND ONLY BOLTED THROUGH ONE LAYER OF THE FRAME. YOU MAY STRUT CARS TO ACHIEVE RIDE HEIGHT. LEAF SPRING CARS MAY
CHANGE SPRINGS, MAX. OF 7 LEAFS PER SIDE FACTORY STAGGER ONLY ONE MAIN LEAF. MUST HAVE FACTORY SHACKLES. CAR MUST HAVE SOME
SORT OF SUSPENSION MOVEMENT( NOT TIRE MOVEMENT)

13. ENGINES: ANY ENGINE IN ANY CAR , MAY WELD IN SOLID, YOU ARE ALLOWED 2 CHAINS  3/8 LINK MAX TO HOLD ENGINE IN GOING TO THE CRADLE, ONE
LINK MAY BE WELDED TO THE CRADLE ONLY. CROSS MEMBERS MAY BE INTERCHANGED 6 INCH ANGLE TO SET THESE ON CANNOT COME IN CONTACT
WITH GUSSETTS OR BOXES AT ANY TIME.

14. TIRES:  ANY RUBBER TIRE ALLOWED 15. PROTECTORS: GAS TANK PROTECTORS 40 INCHES WIDE, THESE MUST ONLY CONNECT TO BACK BAR OF
CAGE, MAY GO ALL THE BACK TO THE REAR SEAT AREA.  DISTRIBUTOR PROTECTOR MAY BE NO WIDER THAN INTAKE AND ONLY ATTACH TO ENGINE,
CAN NOT BE BOLTED OF MOUNTED TO THE FIREWALL. TRANSMISSION PROTECTORS ARE ALLOWED AS WELL, CAN NOT ATTACH TO ANYTHING BUT THE
TRANSMISSION IT SELF.  

IF IT IS NOT IN THE RULES DON’T DO IT WITHOUT MAKING A CALL FIRST. OFFICIALS HAVE FINAL SAY.  CALL 812-871-7728
